"The Finnish Meteorological Institute reported that this summer's heat
records were broken in many areas in Southern and Eastern Finland on Monday.
The unofficial record for the day, or 26.4°C, was measured in Lahti at
six p.m. The influx of warm air caused numerous thunderstorms, and for
example in Lapua around one thousand homes were without electricity in the
evening. "
