From: Jesse Ferrell (WeatherMatrix) (jesse{at}weathermatrix.net)
Date: Fri May 16 2003 - 19:41:34 EDT

"Tornadoes and strong wind battered Oklahoma for the second week, damaging
homes, airports and a school and causing at least one minor injury,
authorities said Friday.

Power outages were scattered after the storms late Thursday and early
Friday in the Oklahoma Panhandle, west-central and northeastern sections of
the state.

Also late Thursday, at least two tornadoes ripped into Seward County in
southwest Kansas, causing widespread damage and heavy flooding that washed
out rural roads. There were no reports of injuries.

Earlier Thursday in Tennessee, wind gusted to 100 mph in Knoxville and hail
as large as tennis balls in Greenback in Loudon County, injuring at least
four people and plunging thousands into darkness in the state's eastern
section. "
