"An F-2 or weak F-3 tornado has hit the GM plant causing major structural
damage. No injuries have been reported as of 6:15 p.m. There were injuries
in other parts of the metro, however.

The tornado also hit near Crossroads mall. Oklahoma City fire officials
report at least 60 injuries, with one critical.

EMSA officials say the GM plant has been hit very hard and they are
recommending the plant's disaster plan be put into effect. GM officials
told Oklahoma's NewsChannel 4's Ali Meyer the plant had a tornado drill
just three weeks ago.

A tornado touchdown at Tinker Air Force Base caused minor damage and
deposited debris on many of the runways.

Several homes about half a mile east of Tinker are totally destroyed. There
are also reports of homes in Del City being blown off their foundation.

The same tornado touched down in northern Cleveland County and Oklahoma
County causing major damage at about 5:15 this evening.

Major damage is being reported near Interstate 240 and Sooner Road in
southern Oklahoma City. There are reports of damage near Del City and
Midwest City. A fire has been reported at Moore shopping center.

The General Motors plant on I-240 has sustained extreme roof and window
damage. An area on the west side of the plant is on fire.

Interstate 240 and 40 have been shutdown. Several businesses, including a
bank, have sustained major damage."
