Subject: Strong? Little Storm
Hello All,
I'm located 2miles to the west of the very small town of Olanta, Pa, in
central clearfield county, so now you know where I'm from. Just thought I
would let you all know of our recent little storm to pass overhead. This is
my first stormreport I've sent in. At about 10:30am this morning, I saw that
the cumulus clouds had grown into towering cumulus and getting bigger fast.
Then at 10:55am the rain hit. It lasted for about 15min. with my new record
peak rain rate of 4.00in/hr at 11:04am! Also we got a small wind gust of
24mph at 10:58am. We got a quick hail shower with the biggest of them all
barely reaching the size of a small pea. It was a perfect example of a
single cell storm growing and peaking ( over my house ) and then dying. Can
t wait to see what develops later this afternoon! We are under a slight risk
and the special wx statements are already out. See ya later!
Current Conditions:
Temp: 71.6
Wind: 5mph, out of the WNW
Humidity: 61%
Dewpoint: 58
Baro: 29.79 and falling slowly ( beginning to fall rapidly )
Daily rain: 0.21in.
