[STORMREPORTS] Bread and Milk time in Tennessee

From: Anson Galyon (utfgal{at}msn.com)
Date: Wed Feb 25 2004 - 18:04:56 EST

For those of you not familiar with East Tennessee weather, the above title tells it all. Anytime snow is in the NWS forecast, folks around here make a bee-line for the nearest supermarket to stock up on everything necessary to tide them over during the inclement period.

It has become rather a urban story here, some people actually standing in line to buy, of all things, TP!

NWS sez we'll have anywhere from 4 to maybe 6 inches in the valley, and much more in the mountains.

In reality, there is somewhat of a low pressure system sprawling across the Guf Coast, and most stations between Tennessee and the gulf are reporting light rain. If that system should slide northeast, there will undoubtedly be precipation of some sort in our area. Whether there is enough cold air riding the current easterly winds to form an underlying situation, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile, don't get between me and my Charmin!!!

   Anson
