Hidi-ho good neighbors. Greetings again from the high desert of the Mid

My records only go back to December 1976. Greg Keefer from near by
Hagerstown, MD has a great wealth of weather records dating back to 1898. He
too had records fall or nearly fall this February and meteorological winter.
Keefer's station had a total February snowfall of 34.8 inches. This is a new
February record surpassing 31.0 inches which fell in February 1899.
For the winter he has had 56.2 inches of snow which ranks as fourth greatest
(greatest: 68.5 inches in 1960-61).
And last but not least for the month of February Mr. Keefer's station had
5.15 inches of precipitation. That is the second greatest February total in
106 years behind 5.20 inches which fell in February 1984.
I know. It is a lot of numbers to digest at once but this has been a February
for the ages. Until later..............
Jim
