Hi folks!
I am new on the list but have been around WeatherMatrix for about a year or
so. I am in Franktown, Ontario, Canada west of Ottawa approximately 20
miles. Actually, we are near the Franktown Doppler stn at XFT. We have been
experiencing frequent extreme cold snaps here and began a third round last
night with an overnight low of -27ºC or roughly -20ºF.
Tonight is currently sitting at -30.1ºC or -22ºF at 22:45 EST. The air is
dead still and the sky looks almost liquid. This happens with a very dry
cold air mass, a half moon visible and heat shimmer. Even in the boonies
where I am, you get the heat shimmer effect from the buildings themselves. I
should say that I am not sure whether this qualifies as reportable or not
but figured I should ask.
I do know that this is not truly a chat list but felt I should intro myself.
