[STORMREPORTS] Arctic Cold

From: Mike Lill (mlill{at}efortress.com)
Date: Tue Jan 28 2003 - 08:04:22 EST

Here in Warwick, Rhode Island the morning low was a bitter -1.4 F. and
with a wind averaging 6-10 Mph the wind chills are -15 F.

This has been a more average Winter temperature wise and snowfall has been
near normal with around 26 inches so far. Still waiting for the big
snowstorm of the year as we've only had a couple 6 inch storms so far.

Local ponds and lakes are frozen to a depth around 10 inches thick. People
are taking advantage of the good ice and are ice fishing, skating, playing
sports etc..

Even Narragansett Bay which is salt water is freezing in some spots.
Especially in the northern part of the bay, along the edges, and in the
sheltered coves. Water temps down around 30 F.
