This morning's low temperature of 0 degrees at WeatherMatrix HQ in State
College, PA, breaks all previous records (since I moved here in 1997). The
previous record low, 1 degree, was set last week. The previous record
before that was 2 degrees, set the week before! So, it's been a bit of a
cold winter here :)

Looking at official records, the last time it was as low as 0 at the
official climo station in town (Penn State) was in January 1997, when I was
still in warmer North Carolina :)

Other nearby temperatures:

AWS Bellefonte: 2
KUNV: 3
AWS State College: 3
KPSU Rock Springs: -3

Other NWS stations in PA under 0 this morning:

Bradford, Dubois, Franklin, GKJ, Johnstown, Mount Pocono, Pittsburgh,
BTP. Lowest was -6 at Dubois.

The following NWS stations in New York State were below -10 this morning:

ART, Watertown, Watertown International Airport (-30), GTB (-17), IAG
(-12), MSS (-16), SLK (-16)

Ohio and Indiana also had an incredibly cold morning considering they are
the same latitude as us. The cold high pressure system was right on top of
them.

Indiana temps less than -10: BAK, BMG, GEZ, GUS, LAF. Coldest was 013 at
GEZ (Shelbyville Municipal Airport)

Ohio temps less than -10: DFI, FDY, LHQ, ZZV, ILN. Lowest was -18 at LHQ
(Lancaster, Fairfield County Airport)

Put a "K" in front of any of these station identifiers to find any of the
station names above at:
