A tornado upended boats Monday night at the Houston
Yacht Club on Galveston Bay and raced through a La
Porte residential area, uprooting trees, cutting power
and shattering windows. Another tornado hit Texas
City, collapsing one building and damaging others.
Andrea Armour said the tornado that hit the yacht club
also ripped off part of the roof of her nearby home
about 9:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Bay Colony and
blew her backyard wooden fence into trees 50 yards
away. She said she hasn't found her roof yet.
