"CHARLOTTE, N.C. A total of 4,300 workers from 15 states, including Texas,
Florida and Michigan have pushed the number of people assisting in the Duke
Power storm restoration effort to more than 12,000.
Half of the more than 1.3 million customers who lost power from the worst
ice storm in Duke Power's history have had their service restored.
Approximately 284 miles of wire, 583 transformers and 175 poles have been
installed."

142,205 - down from a peak of 464,000.
