Storm Warning
With Dr. Louis Uccellini
Director, National Weather Service,
National Centers for Environmental Prediction
Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002; 11 a.m. ET

Traffic is snarled, flights are delayed out of local airports and most area
schools closed as the Washington, D.C. metro area contends with the first
significant snowstorm this year. A winter storm warning is in effect for
the entire region and National Weather Service meteorologists expect a
total accumulation of between six and 10 inches before snow stops falling.

Dr. Louis Uccellini, director of the National Weather Service, National
Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), was online Thursday, Dec. 5 at
11 a.m. ET, to explain what we can expect from the snowstorm and the
current weather conditions.
