RE: [STORMREPORTS] Cold Morning/Day in PA

Hi,

In Michigan its very cold as well. In fact, Lansing Michigan hit 18 below
zero which blew away a 136 year old record. Very cold and about the coldest
its ever been this early in the winter season. Fortunately I live nearer to
Lake Michigan and Lake Michigan sort of serves as a natural heater (if you
can call it that) and kept us just above zero. Never the less, a cold
morning here in Michigan. The lake effect machine has been cranking in high
gear with massive amounts of snow in a very short time. Near Port Huron
Michigan which is in the thumb, 11 inches of snow fell in just a few hours
on Monday and five inches fell in Detroit from the same snow band. The Door
peninsula in Wisconsin received six and one half inches in just over two
hours on Monday as well. The bands off the lake were not wide in coverage
but were very heavy. More cold and snow promised in the long-term forecasts
as well.

Subject: [STORMREPORTS] Cold Morning/Day in PA

It was a VERY cold morning here in PA. I mentioned that WeatherMatrix HQ
hit 9, the season's earliest day to hit the single digits in the last 10
years. Well, we dropped to 7 degrees above zero after that. Wind chills
overnight were near -20. Our HIGH today at WeatherMatrix HQ in State
College PA was 23, which is 5 degrees BELOW our average LOW!
