Both NWS Apparent Temperatures and AccuWeather RealFeel Temperatures were
over 100 over much of the East Coast, with RealFeels as high as 116 in
Pennsylvania and 115 in Virginia, and Apparent Temperatures as high as 115
in Virginia and 112 in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Both were 112 in areas
from NC through NY.
MANY stations from the Carolinas to the Megalopolis reported dewpoints in
the 70s, even upper 70s (in fact Montreal Canada reported a dewpoint of
79). Several stations in the Northeast reported dewpoints in the low
80s. Of course automated dewpoint observations are notoriously unreliable.
DEWPOINTS >80:
Indiana PA (IDI): 82 (9am-12pm, 5pm)
Sellinsgrove PA (SEG): 81 (1pm,5pm)
Ogdensburg NY (OGS): 81 (12pm)
Two stations reported temperatures near the century mark:
TEMPS >97:
FAYETTEVILLE, NC 4pm 99 32 ESE/3 30.02 6 MOSTLY SUNNY
NORTH KINGST, RI 6pm 99 WNW/6 29.87 4 HAZE
Here at WeatherMatrix HQ in Central PA:
Temp 95 °F {at} 03:13 pm
Heat Index 109.0 °F {at} 01:21 pm
This is only the THIRD day at this station (1997-present) that the
temperature has hit 95 degrees.
