Couldnt have gotten better tonight... I left for work... under wonderful mostly sunny skies... got to work... and saw the occasional rain/lightning... almost 2 hours later... during an intense storm... several truckstops and restraunts loose power for almost 2 hours... then the green skies and one more intense batch of storms... couldnt have gotten better...
*Here is the summary of todays (06/03/2002) weather*
0230pm - 0430pm Scattered storms hit and pass by Northern Kane County... where Hampshire is located...
0445pm Lightning strikes ComEd transformer... it knocks out power to Hampshire, IL... knocks out power to the truckstops Clark, Shell, TA... Restruants Aarowhead Oasis, McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Popeyes...
0750pm Power is restored to Hampshire...
0900pm Erik who is working Maintenaince at Clark notices the hatch to the roof is open in back... and the storm is is causing rain to come in... he climbs the 15ft high ladder to close the hatch... and takes a look outside from the roof of the Clark... to the west, the sky turns a forest green... Erik quickly closes the hatch, runs to the office and turns on NOAA radio to listen to the latest...
0910pm A severe thunderstorm nails Hampshire... heavy winds and hail, knock trees over and damage the truckstops... damage reported... Clark truckstop sign damaged, cement trashcan crashed... and cars are pushed around the parkinglot, trees and branches (5ft+) are blown down...
*Hows that for FUN!!!!... sorry though for no pictures... my dad had my digital cam today, and you missed the fun party today at Clark... as the CB Shop, Duncan Donuts, and us at Clark through our own party... lol... for 2-3 hours... we didnt even do any work... (we couldnt) that was fun
