What is likely the first tornado of 2002 hit just west of Crete
Saturday. A storm system moved into Saline county, and a trained weather
spotter saw a tornado just after 3pm Saturday afternoon.

The storm overturned a couple of irrigation pivots. A barn was
destroyed, a corncrib was nudged off its foundation, a garage door was
damaged and many trees were damaged. There were no reports of injuries.
