Just got back from a mini-storm chase. Ended up at the University Park
Airport where I witnessed golf ball sized hail. At the other end of the
airport was apparently baseball-sized hail! Tree branches were down at
that end of the road (1/3 mile or so from where I was). Here at
WeatherMatrix HQ (State College, PA, geographical center of the state)
quarter to golf-ball sized hail was reported.
This is the biggest hail to hit WeatherMatrix HQ since I have lived here (5
years). Not bad for April!
32mph wind gust during the hail. Well, time to check the car for dents :)
