Had some pretty heavy snowfall through last night over Eastern Iowa and Northwestern Illinois...Totals ranged from 13" to only traces throughout the area. Some freezing rain and ice accumulation was also reported to the south. Here at WeatherMatics Headquarters in Northwestern Illinois we have received 8.5"....at our affiliate Weather Duck Inc in Eastern Iowa...he has received 7.5". Some other totals from our affiliates also include the Marengo Weather Tracker reporting in with 7.4". Many schools are either cancelled or stating 2 hrs late. More freezing rain is expected today them another 2-3 inches of snow for tonight before the storm finally pulls out of the area. WeatherMatics would personally like to thank Weather Duck, Marengo Weather Tracker and New Hampton Iowa Weather for all there input and information on this storm system. I feel all three of us had it pinned down very good and had the area very well prepared!
