So far since Monday the Houston Metro area has seen 11
inches of rainfall mainly on the southeast side along
the I-45 corridor to Galveston.
Since 5pm this evening(8/30)Friendswood,TX (30 miles
SE of Downtown Houston)has reported just under 4
inches of rain in a 3 hour period along with 8 tornado
warnings around the area and flash flood warnings.

The training pattern of this upper level system is
similar to Allison's path on June 9th. but this one is
30 miles SE. Another 6 inches is predicted for
tomorrow & possibly will go on thru Sunday.

Houston/Galveston(HGX).....
SINCE 500 PM THE HARRIS COUNTY RAINFALL NETWORK
REPORTED BETWEEN 1
1/2 AND 3 1/2 INCHES OF RAIN ALONG AND WEST OF
INTERSTATE 45 IN
SOUTHEASTERN HARRIS AND NORTHWESTERN GALVESTON
COUNTIES. AT 815 PM
RADAR SHOWED THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO DEVELOP AND
MOVE ACROSS THE
FOUR COUNTY AREA. THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL WILL OCCUR IN
AN AREA
BETWEEN ROSHARON AND ANGLETON EAST TO BETWEEN PASADENA
AND TEXAS
CITY.MANY ROADS IN THE HOUSTON METRO AREA ARE DESIGNED
AS FLOODWAYS. THIS
MEANS THE WATER WILL FLOOD THE STREET TO SOME
DEPTH...BUT HOMES MAY
STAY DRY.
Another note...Central Texas has had numerous water
rescues thru the day around San Antonio northward to
Temple, Texas.
