TAMPA - A Smog Alert has been issued for Hillsborough, Pinellas and Manatee
counties.People with breathing problems are urged to stay indoors,
particularly during late afternoon and early evening, when ozone levels peak.
On Monday the Environmental Protection Commission of Hillsborough measured
the air quality index of 101, which is considered unhealthy for sensitive
people. The smog is a result of a high-pressure system that keeps pollution
from drifting away.
