Record rainfall across all of Washington State made for slippery roads but
was a blessing for firefighters fighting wildfires across the state. As much
as 2 inches of rain fell in the Cascades helping to extinguish some of the
fires that have been raging across parts of the "Evergreen State" the past
couple of weeks. Record amounts of rain have fallen across the state since
this past Tuesday. The most rain fell across Western Washington with amounts
between 2 and 5 inches. Since most of this summer has seen the Northwest US
in a drought the return of the rain was welcome news to both firefighters and
farmers alike. More rain is expected into the weekend continuing to bring
relief to the NW.
