After a wreck yesterday in extreme Northeast Alabama in Jackson County, a
man died due to lightning striking a tree that he, and 3 others were seeking
refuge under due to a rain shower while the wreck was being cleaned up. The
man, a father of one of the boys in the wreck, was pronounced dead at the
scene, the other 3 persons were transported to Erlanger Medical Center in
Chattanooga, two in serious condition, the other in fair.
