Typhoon Cimaron, season's 1st, passes Okinawa

TOKYO, May 14, 2001 (Kyodo via COMTEX) -- Typhoon Cimaron, this year's
first tropical cyclone, passed by the city of Nago on Okinawa Island on
Monday as weather authorities issued storm alerts for the southwestern
Japanese prefecture, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
