Monday's weather was a mirror of the month of April: warm & dry.
Monday's low was 40.4º at 6:30am, the high was 76.2º at 4:35pm. PWG
was 10mph at 3:07pm. Cirrus sneaked in about noon, & slowly thickened to
a thin overcast.
The temp rose from 39º at 5am to 72º at noon at the airport, a rise
of 33º in 7 hours. The airport high was 79º at 2:41pm.

Mean temp was 56.32º, about 3º above normal. The rainfall was a mere
1.93", or almost 1/3 below normal. On 10 days the high was at least 5º
above normal, and on 6 days was at least 5º below normal. Five nights
lows were 35º or colder.

Back Creek Fire Blazes
A 20-acre blaze roared over the top of North Mountain Saturday night,
and it took 20 fire fighting companies to put it out. The blaze took
about three-and-a-half hours to control, according to Back Creek Valley
Rescue Sergeant Joe Dunham. The fire started near Elderberry Lane, off
Route 45. Crews were called to the scene about 6 P-M.
And, although the fire was extinguished by 9:30, crews went back to the
scene Sunday to ward off any rekindling.
There were no injuries reported, and no damages to structures. No word
as yet on what started the blaze.
