[STORMREPORTS] " STORMS IN THE GULF " (MEXICO)

There is a large area of moderate to strong convection located over the
Yucatan peninsula. Though not designated as a tropical depression they are
very impressive on the recent infrared satellite picture. Another moderate
area of convection located in the Straits of Florida will be moving north
over the next few days bringing rain to the Florida Keys and Southwest
Florida over the next few days. These storms could make it as far north as
Tampa Bay but I'm not convinced this will occur. The models I've seen seem to
conflict on this point right now. However even the potential for rain is
welcome news here in that it means we are exiting the dry season. For more
information on these storms see the satellite image attached below or go to
the Gray Fox Weather Service.
