Tri-State Weather and Alerts - http://www.tristatenews.com
3:30 PM Saturday
>From the Tri-State News Network Weatherdesk
This is a special update, based on some reader
reports of forecasts coming out of New York City.
One NY Television station is reporting 20-30 inches
for Pike County. As mentioned earlier, a wobble in
the Storm track or a 'circulation back' could
create these conditions, however for Pike, we
feel, at this hour, it is still unlikely.
We did tweak the totals up on the front page
somewhat about an hour ago. They may require further adjustment later
today, should the system circulate back into our area.
Sussex County and Western Orange County will see more snow,
and isolated spots, may indeed fall in the 20 plus inch range.
Areas to the east (Middletown, etc.), even more.
I-84 is dangerous. Numerous regional reports of accidents.
Many Federal, State, local, and volunteer road and emergency
crews are out and running on an emergency
basis clearing roads for ambulances, etc.
As for Pike, a majority of our spotters are reporting
a mixed bag with Western Pike with under 8 inches and eastern Pike now
approaching 10, with steady light snow.
So far, areas to are east and southeast, as expected,
are being hardest hit, with closeby West Milford, NJ
reporting 21 inches.
Winds are just entering the region on the back of this system.
Dangerous wind chills will be with us throughout the rest of today and
tonight. Blowing snow will impair visibility.
Don't travel, Keep flashlights with fresh batteries on hand.
Some areas remain not plowed at all at this hour, major
roads are getting their second or third pass.
Many of the communities in Dingman and Delaware Townships
are reported hazardous.
Should conditions change we'll keep you informed.
Next Update to the front between 5 and 5:30
24/7 when you need us
