During the last 36 hours Florida experienced a huge temperature drop due
to CAA. Here at my rural location in Plant City, east of Tampa we
experienced a temperature drop of 53 deg, from 84 to 31 deg.
On Monday morning 12/18/00 near freezing temps. dropped into the south
central peninsula with subfreezing temps. central and north. The cold spot
in the state this morning was 21 deg. at Crestview in the north, with 27 at
Ocklawaha in north central, 28 in Brooksville in central and 32 in Ona in
south central.

A chance of snow exists across north Florida early Tuesday morning
12/19/00 west of Talahassee, beginning around 1:00 am, in association with
the next cold front and vorticity maximum. A brief mix is possible before
sunrise north of Gainesville.
Freezing temps. return for Wednesday morning 12/20 as far south as south
central and then again for Christmas Day 12/25 and 12/26 deep into the
Everglades.
