We here in Western North Carolina have a very unusual forecast for this time of year. Starting with today, currently experiencing a few thunderstorms with some hail. In Sylva, spotters report .88" hail around 145pm. Temp here in Asheville is 39 degrees! Sun has appeared for the first time today, probably will increase the instability ahead of the main line of storms with this system. Already a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for East Tennessee (44 miles from here to Tenn line). May see one here later. Strong thunderstorms are forecast to become more frequent through late tonight, then temps falling enough to give us some accumulating snow into tomorrow! Barometric pressure has been falling rapidly all day, and to top it all off, there is a Wind Advisory and a High Wind Watch for tonight and tomorrow. Signing off now for thunderstorm, will try again later to keep you up to date.
