WX Tue 12-12
At 6am, A sharp cold front arrived, w/o any needed moisture. The temp
rose from 38 to 49 in the 4 hours before its arrival. The barometer
which had fallen to 29.50, rose a full inch to 30.51 by midnight!
Dewpoints fell from 41 to 10. A few flurries were seen early in the
afternoon.
Strong winds finally shed the willow tree of it's last leaves.

At 5:51am (Tue) my station measured a PWG of 42mph. Although a PWG from
the airport was unavailable, sustained winds were in the 20-29mph range
the entire AM. At 6am, the local ob on TWC crawl showed a sustained wind
of 32mph & gusts of 46mph.
Numerous limbs were downed in my yard. The power company had reported a
1000 customers w/o electricity in the early afternoon.

The low windchill was 0 at 9:19am. Temperatures fell quickly thru the
40s in the AM, then into the 30s in the afternoon. The late evening low
fell to 24.
Also, i had put recycling out Tue. I found one trash can (empty) in the
middle of the street. Also found my recyclable container some 75 yards
away, setting along a fence next to the interstate!
Where Did My Probe Go?
When i got up Tue, one of my older thermometers showed "HH.H", Since i
don't depend on it for readings, i really did not investigate.
[When i moved here (2.5 years ago), i had no good location to put a
thermometer. So i used a support for shelving, & then attached a
margarine cup by tying the wire thru. Now i use several wireless units.]
When i went out Wed AM, sure enough, not only is cup gone, but so was
the probe.

WX Wed 12-13
Clouds rapidly thickened up, & before dark i saw virga from the clouds.
As sunset arrived, this was the effect of the variable cloud decks.

Listening to regional scanners, several accidents reported, & very icy
conditions are reported. Moderate frz rain might accumalate a 1/2"
before ending Thur am.
If i have visible glazing this evening, i'll try to show it. Otherwise,
i'll film when i get up, & show them after i get home from work Thur.
Temps are forecast to be above freezing well before noon. More "mixed
mess" is due Sat.
