Winchester (nw) VA
For the 2nd time in under a week, a soaking rain fell in the mid
Atlantic. South of the Mason Mason line (PA/MD), totals were 1-3",
elsewhere in VA & MD, totals were closer to 1/2 inch w/ streaks of up to
2'" amounts.
In nw VA, i measured 1.4" of rain between 9pm Sun & when it ended about
1am this morning. At times rain was fallen 1/4" per hour. The combined
total of last Tue & yesterdays storm would be normal rain for the
entire month. Sept total now stands at 4.71".
Temperatures fell throughout Monday, from the midnight high of 59 to a
9:30pm low of 47. At 3am today it is still 47. At noon Monday, the 24
hour temperature change was 28 degrees. Factoring the the heat index Sun
& the wind chill Mon, the change widened to 33 degrees.

Even the birds wanna stay dry
With the 2nd soaker in under a week, even the birds want to stay dry.
The birds also were hanging onto the brick side of the house, window
sills, and trellis that all were out of the heavier rain.
