For Monday, August 28, 2000
DFW Airport set a new record for consecutive days
without rainfall today. Today was the 59th day
with out rain, replacing the 58 days in 1934 and
1950.
The record days is likely to continue through the
weekend at least. I have had two precipitation
days since June 29 here at my station in Temple,
Texas, located about 120 miles south of Dallas.
Total rainfall for those two days is 0.30". The
record consecutive days without rainfall at my
station is 77 days, recorded from June 27 to
September 11, 1993.
