Winchester (nw) VA
Hello everyone,
After putting up/enjoying with the coolest July since the early part of
the 1900s, we in the mid Atlantic will finally get a (prolonged) taste
of summer wx. Forecasts for my area calling for mid 80s & high humidity
the balance of the next week, w/ a daily threat thunderstorms.
Friday we climbed to 84, the warmest in 10 days, and still 3 degrees
below average. In fact the warmest I measured this month has been 87, on
the 9th & 18th. We had a record cold maximum on Mon (68, 4 below the
old record).
Friday, nasty thunderstorm swept thru parts
of the area, but at my location not much than thunder, .14" of rain
over an hours time about 5pm. Storms missed me by 7 miles west & 10
miles south.
And i'm going the Outer Banks (NC) for the coming week. My mother & I,
along w/ siblings with their families meet every 2nd year there. I put
my egroups lists on no mail, (a challenge since egroups took 10 minutes
to load the 4 pages needed to do that *ugh*). Those that send jokes to
me may continue. I will return to normal mail next Sat, & hopefully wont
take long to catch up.
