Hi Jess & crew...
So what happens when I set out from the Poconos for Philly for the day
with
the family?....
No computer, No weather equipment...No scanner ....
By the reports, most of you probably know...
All I can tell you at this point is the ride home
was not only incredibly filled with Severe T-storms (mostly on the PA
Turnpike)
but, just outside of Allentown ran into a TV crew
surveying the scene from an unofficial Tornado an hour earlier.
If it was, I never found the center and it got pretty late.
All I can say is I wish I had a VCR
in the car for this one,
instead of my 'dead battery' digital camera.
>From Valley Forge to Rt 80 going North in PA around 8 PM
, before dark, incredible cloud formations and daytime 'light show',
after dark...high winds,
numerous roads closures, disabled large trucks,
and a sky that you usually only see from up here!
Cloud to cloud lightning was COMMON.
Guess I should have had your phone number Jess-
This would have made some wedding present...
So far all I have from StormWarn is below
Quite a few of these were very apparent
(including the winds at Harrisburg just kicking in as we were leaving
-big
time)
Hot muggy day down there rapidly turned severe.
It's midnight -What should have been a 2 1/2-3 hour ride
went into overtime :)
That's three straight nights of driving through Severe T-storms?!
Great night!
Wonder if Bud caught this, or anyone else.
Guess we'll find out in the morning
Charlie
