Well we had our 1st ice storm of season this am. A heavy snow began
about 3:45am, and accumulated a few inches of snow then ice pellets for
a few hours, changing to freezing rain around 9am. The temp went above
freezing around 1pm, and at 3pm it is 33.5. The ice on the trees & is
now melting.
Ice on trees < 1/4", on ground 1.5 to 2", before meltdown. Forecast is
for occasional "liquid" rain thru Tonight, w/ temps rising to near 50
Sat.
Since there was ample warning on this storm, and since it has been warm
lately (68 Wed & 43 Thur), wrecks were not a major problem (though still
more than a normal Fri am).
