Hello everyone,
I was preoccupied Sat, and did
not post. Total amount of melted precip in Winchester (nw) VA was 1.50",
brings February's total to 1.75" (or 125% mtd normal). There were no
local reports of flooding, however, NWS Sterling issued a flash flood
warning in the mountainous counties west of us Fri evening. Radar had
estimated 5" rain there, but i'm unsure if those echoes were amplified
by ice pellets that fell Fri am. The Potomac River at Kitzmiller MD was
forecasted to crest early Sat at flood stage. That station is near the
head waters of the North Branch.
