A wind gust on Grandfather Mountain in the NW mountains of NC was
measured
at 184 mph this afternoon. This comes on the heels of a wind gust
measured a
couple of days ago of 161 mph.
The record is 195 mph recorded in the 1970's I believe. Not quite up to
the
Mt Washington record of 230+ (?) mph but impressive none the least.
