[CASI-SR] Strong Winds In Florida

From: Thomas Giella (kn4lf{at}webtv.net)

Yesterday I forecasted wind gusts to 45 mph for today in Florida and
have already recorded a gust to 37 mph.
When the cold front whipped through early this AM the relative humidity
dropped from 100-34% in only a few minutes.
Boundry layer winds are running in the 50-60 mph range and as the dry
air mixes down today we may see gusts to 50 mph in coastal areas.
Central Florida should stay above freezing tonight due to contiued
mixing but north central should be near freezing and north in the mid
20's. If winds die down enough over central we could be near freezing
also.
The real concern is the next cold wave coming the 18th-22nd. A hard
freeze is possible on the peninsula.
