South American Storms 11/21

I've watched the "ring of fire" storms pop up on a daily basis in Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, and western Brazil but I had never seen such a large MCC (Mesoscale Convective Complex)-Like event as the one I saw which covered Ecuador and northern Peru, about 500 miles square, on 11/21/99 (especially considering no surrounding storms). I guess it wasn't that big of a deal though because the HPC South American discussion mentioned little about it. Still, it looked impressive on satellite!

Below are links. (I couldn't find much of interest from Peru or Ecuador METARS and no Ecuador synoptics so I linked the synoptics for Peru).
