| Both my wife and myself have just returned from photographing the
damage caused by last nights storm at Fairhaven Lumber/Fairhaven,Ma. A
portion of the roof has been removed evident./ caused by some downburst
in relation to last nights storm.Initally I had heard a mention of such
over the Fairhaven police freq. early this morning and had forwared the
information to NWS Taunton for their investigation. Late this afternoon
we took a ride and sure enough a good portion of the roof had been
removed along with some damage to some fencing of the bordering property
of Bob's Restraunent.(no relation that I know of)...To the west of the
sight is Fairhaven's landfill which in elevation (as many of such today
around the country) is quite high compared to the surrounding land. I do
question how much affect this may have had in increasing any form of
downburst involved with this storm? Just a thought...also a small street
sign had also been torn loose. No other damage appeared to me further
east from this sight.Just thought this information may interest
you..Have A Great Holiday Weekend/poss. natures fireworks again late 4th
of July/couldn't think of a better day for that...73'ssss to all.Bob
