Storm Summary
This storm was the most severe in this area, as far as damage goes, since 1990. There are many trees down here in the neighborhood. Also, a shed was blown of it's foundation and the roof of it was completely torn off and demolished. Rain was extremely heavy with a half an inch total, however, that was only in 10 minutes! A wind gust was clocked at 60 mph which was at 6:36 PM. This was the gust that brought down the trees and the shed. The temp. dropped from 84 to 64 in just 5-10 minutes! This storm produced more strong straight line winds than anything, caused by a boe echo that was easily visible on radar, but there was also a house that was on fire and nearly burned to the ground due to a lightning strike which hit it. One more comment about the wind speed, the gust to 60 mph was the strongest gust clocked on my Davis Weather Monitor II since it was installed back in Feb. of 1995. A unique double rainbow was produced shortly after the storm ended and the sun came out while heavy rain was still falling.
