| We left Norman to intercept storm northbound on I-35. We were able
to observe the storm for its entire duration. The tornado touched down
as the storm came across Lake Hefner in th NW part of the city, and
continued through the Northern part of the city. It crossed I-35 just
north of Frotier City amusement park and continued into the residential
areas along NE 122 Street. We followed the storm on I-44 East for about
20 miles, and observed several tractor trailers overturned and tree
damage, although most of this was probably RFD damage. The tornado
caused extensive damage throughout northern Oklahoma City. |
